Aviation Experience
Mr. Fagan entered the private practice of law in 1969 and began his aviation practice in 1970 when he was first retained to represent The Dee Howard Co. (DHC).
Mr. Fagan represented DHC as outside general counsel from 1970 to 1987 when he became a full time employee as Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and General Counsel of DHC until January 1990 at which time he returned to the private practice of law continuing to serve on the Executive Committee of the DHC Board of Directors until 1992.
During his professional career, in addition to DHC, Mr. Fagan has acted as counsel to corporate aircraft owners, representatives of foreign governments, aircraft insurers, fixed base operators, aircraft maintenance and modification facilities, and various vendors and suppliers in the aviation industry.
Mr. Fagan’s legal advice has covered the full range of legal matters related to the aviation industry including, but not limited to, the purchase and sale of aircraft, products liability litigation, ad valorem and sales tax matters, FAA certification issues, business litigation, corporate legal services, litigation in human resources/employment matters, real estate, insurance, and contractual support dealing with the airframe and aircraft engine manufacturers, vendors, subcontractors, customers, agents, joint venture partners and technology licensor/licensee agreements.
Mr. Fagan is one of the co-founders of the Aviation Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and served on its Executive Committee as Treasurer.
