The San Antonio Area Foundation is excited to bring you Quick Connections, a 20 minute conversation covering the latest news and updates happening in our community. These phone calls will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and find out how you can get involved with our work in the community.

Community Involvement

Wayne is committed to community service and pro bono legal assistance focusing on access to justice, corporate social responsibility, and economic development at the local, state, national and international levels. Some of the projects on which Wayne has worked in the past include:

  • Combating school violence by helping to organize and implement a peer mediation project in the US in collaboration with the American Bar Association and in San Antonio in collaboration with the San Antonio Bar Association
  • Advisor to the State of Nuevo Leon, Mexico in the drafting of the first Alternative Dispute Resolution legislation at the state level in Mexico
  • Advisor to the American Bar Association on a USAID funded project to implement community mediation centers throughout Mexico
  • Co-Planner (in cooperation with Hague Conference on Private International Law, United States Department of State (Office of Children’s Issues), Law School of Instituto Technologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Organization of American States, American Bar Association Latin American Law Initiative Council, Texas-Mexico Bar Association, and International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children) of The Latin American Judges’ Seminar on The 1980 Hague Convention on The Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction – Monterrey, N.L., Mexico (December 2004)
  • Advisor to the Chamber of Commerce of Buenos Aires, Argentina on a World Bank funded project to implement an online dispute resolution program
  • Former Member | Board of Trustees (1994-2000) World Affairs Council of San Antonio
  • Former Member | Board of Directors (1992-1996) Greater Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council,Inc.
  • Former Member | Board of Directors and Chair of the membership committee of the Free Trade Alliance San Antonio
  • Former Member | Board of Directors of the San Antonio Bar Foundation
  • Former Member | Board of Directors of Alamo Area Rape Crisis Center
